Essex Air Ambulance is once again looking to the people of Essex to get on board to raise much needed funds during National Air Ambulance Week. From Monday 20th to Sunday 26th September 2010 the fundraising team will be running the fourth annual ‘Go Yellow’ appeal supported by Arc Legal Assistance to help raise vital funds.
Local schools, businesses, groups, clubs and individuals are invited to join in the week of fundraising and kindly donate £1 to the Charity during that week. Taking part is easy! Supporters simply choose a day between Monday 20th and Sunday 26th September to wear yellow, show their support for the Air Ambulance and donate £1 per person to help keep the life-saving helicopter flying!
Helen Withers, Managing Director of Arc Legal Assistance said, “Essex Air Ambulance carries out vital work every day across our County. At Arc Legal we believe it is important to contribute to our local community. We are delighted to be able to support the Go Yellow week, and help Essex Air Ambulance continue to operate such an important service.”
All schools that signed up to ‘Go Yellow’ by 11th June 2010 were entered into a free prize draw to win a landing by the Essex Air Ambulance in their playing field. The 5 winning schools are:
• Earls Colne Primary School
• St Katherine’s Church of England Primary School, Canvey lsland
• Dunmow St. Mary’s Primary School, Great Dunmow
• The Sandon School, Chelmsford
• Burnham on Crouch Primary School
Each of the five winning schools will receive a special landing by the life-saving helicopter during National Air Ambulance Week. (Subject to emergency call outs and landing conditions). The Charity is grateful to Medical Aviation Services, operators of the aircraft, for allowing them to fly the helicopter free of charge for these special landings.
Those who sign up will join a roll of honour; a list of organisations, companies and schools participating in the campaign which will be featured on this page.
